I'd do nothing but reading if I could (ok, maybe eat some great food, buy some fancy shoes between two books...oh, and spend some quality time with the gorgeous guy I married while I am on reading-break anyway...)

Embattled Minds (Lost and Found, #2) by J.M. Madden

Embattled Minds (Lost and Found, #2) - J.M. Madden

This review might contain spoilers.I really really wanted to like this.It had a "wounded warrior" Ex-Marine meeting a single mom and fall in love. And the scarre Ex-Marine was a Viking-type guy (big, strong, nordic looking) - my favourite.BUT the writing was mediocre at best. It was way too sweet and easy to be interesting. It had Insta-love and no real development (marriage proposal after basically two weeks of dating). It is noticeable that the author really cares about this topic (wounded warriors, PTSD and so on), but the way she put aside any obstacles in the MCs' way to eternal happiness made it into an unbelievable fairytale, that stayed uninteresting throughout everything, even the little drama in the end.Ember was not a believable heroine, her constant confirmation how great she thought Zeke was, got on my nerves real quick, as it was quite unprobable. He was a customer in her bar, for g*ds sake, not her childhood friend. She didn't know him from Adam, so this felt off and phoney, like "oh, he's handicapped, then he must be a good person". And I really didn't buy all this arousal from merely being in his presence - nice story, but more for people who don't have any real experience with sex. And it clashed with the "nearly virgin" back story. So I cannot honestly give more than two stars, because I didn't like most of it - it was an ok read at best.
