I'd do nothing but reading if I could (ok, maybe eat some great food, buy some fancy shoes between two books...oh, and spend some quality time with the gorgeous guy I married while I am on reading-break anyway...)

Not as good as expected...

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil: A Savannah Story - John Berendt

And regarding true crime literary novels, it doesn't hold a candle to Truman Capote's "In cold blood" - the atmosphere, the story line, the whole experience, the eerieness of the crime and the dramaturgy of the criminal prosecution.

It had a good flow and some fascinating side characters. BUT: there were too many of them. And the main characters remained kind of pale, although Jim Williams was given a lot of space in the novel.

It also seemed strange how dispassionate this read - maybe because it is classed as non-fiction - but it didn't help with excitement...

It was an interesting read, but not really fascinating.
