I'd do nothing but reading if I could (ok, maybe eat some great food, buy some fancy shoes between two books...oh, and spend some quality time with the gorgeous guy I married while I am on reading-break anyway...)

Great scifi-space opera story.

Starship's Mage: Omnibus - Glynn Stewart

This was gripping and the story was well-thought out.

It had a great pace and enough action to keep me interested.

I deducted one star for this very enjoyable read, because the characters stayed to detached. What I mean is, that I never felt close to anyone. The story had many characters and it flowed well, had good dialogue. But still I wasn't even sure who was supposed to be main character. Even the title-giving starship mage was basically only a slim young looking nice guy. That's all I learnt about him.

The "romance" between him and one of the young engineers was handled the same way. She asked him to dinner and afterwards they were "together".

It would have been a fantastic read if there would have been more details, more closeness about the characters.
