I'd do nothing but reading if I could (ok, maybe eat some great food, buy some fancy shoes between two books...oh, and spend some quality time with the gorgeous guy I married while I am on reading-break anyway...)
I just have the same little problem that m/m crime/mystery series that strive to be realistic:
There are always a lot of gay people.
While the lesbian best friend of the gay investigator and the boyfriend and everybody else in his personal life make sense and are beautifully done, Dave does meet suspiciously many gay guys in the course of his investigations.
I read it with some trepidation.
Especially as this is the second installment and both stories circled around the whole sexuality "issue".
I am not sure I want to read 10 books that all share the same schematic.
(The mystery turns out to be tied to one of the main involved characters being gay)
I love the writing and I do like Dave as a protag.
I just hope the next few installments will change from this pattern. So that the crime plot keeps some kind of mystery throughout the story.
