3,5 to 4 stars. This was rather entertaining. A very unplausible plot and I am not sure how well researched it was (e.g. the Earl was addressed as "your grace" - which normally is reserved for Dukes). The language for sure didn't feel very Elizabethan (though some references to Shakespeare were interwoven).I didn't like "the Earl" much, he was a rather fallible character (but he kind of grew on you...), but "the actor" was rather charming. I liked how he handled his situation (be the weaker party in the relationship regarding age, finances, social standing and attractiveness etc.).Very enjoyable read, though I am not a fan of historicals, but I will definitely check out more works of this author.
