I'd do nothing but reading if I could (ok, maybe eat some great food, buy some fancy shoes between two books...oh, and spend some quality time with the gorgeous guy I married while I am on reading-break anyway...)

Der Schatten des Windes - Carlos Ruiz Zafón A great read. Very poetic and beautiful language, especially in the beginning. After the dreamy start, the story picks up drive with a drama about love, hate and books. It has some violence and describes the atmosphere in Barcelona after the WWII. A very good book, although it won't become one of my alltime favourites (one reason: I don't believe that you only get one chance at love in life - this kind of philosophy bothers me a bit). What I liked also: the first part is about bad history repeating itself until the circle is broken -and then another, good history repeats itself in the family.
