I'd do nothing but reading if I could (ok, maybe eat some great food, buy some fancy shoes between two books...oh, and spend some quality time with the gorgeous guy I married while I am on reading-break anyway...)
So in the beginning this was not rocking my world, but I thought ok, shifter novels mostly do have some cliches. So I planned to overlook some stuff generously...
And at least this had a hot Native American dude.
A very predictable story started - basically everything was clear from the outset, including the evil enemy, and the strategy the evil enemy would have - and the much loathed mating, yada yada yada...
But then, here the text passage that caused the DNF:
>There was a time when his people didn't worry about such things - they took who they wanted and were done with it.
"Damn modern times", Jason whispered.<
Tami says: You are a douch-bag of the first order and this is rape, you moron.
"You're not in the bedroom with your feet in the air and my dick up your ass, are you? Yes, I'm being considerate. Come to terms with this, Chip, because I will claim you tonight,(...)"
Tami says: Now I officially hate you, arrogant, pompous, egomaniac shifter-dude.
And no - NO - amount of hotness can cure this main character for me.
