I'd do nothing but reading if I could (ok, maybe eat some great food, buy some fancy shoes between two books...oh, and spend some quality time with the gorgeous guy I married while I am on reading-break anyway...)

I don't know if this is a masterpiece, but it left an impression.

The Road - Cormac McCarthy

It had an eerie beauty and at the same time where depressing sadness to it.

It had an atmosphere pending between the stark reality of post-apocalypse without any grace or goodness and the also stark and pure love between father and son.

The prose was also pure and unadorned.
