I'd do nothing but reading if I could (ok, maybe eat some great food, buy some fancy shoes between two books...oh, and spend some quality time with the gorgeous guy I married while I am on reading-break anyway...)

This contemporary felt like historical Western.

Texas Secrets - Jean Brashear

Because there was the slow burn - basically no action until 75% .

And I didn't appreciate the whole "Gallagher men only love once in their life" - sorry, that's bullshit.

It was very heavily constructed and the hero was a bit OTT. But I liked him (blond, ex-SEAL, hot cowboy - what's not to like?).

I liked the heroine also, as the attraction was more about her personality than her beauty.

I didn't really get her back-story of "I need to stay true to myself" - some elaboration would have been good, if that was supposed to be part of her story.

I very much disliked the end. That was way OTT. Too early, too much, not realistic, and really something that in real life would get you an intervention by your friends...

But it was a nice read. I am just not sure, if I will pick up others, as this came along quite old-fashioned.
