I'd do nothing but reading if I could (ok, maybe eat some great food, buy some fancy shoes between two books...oh, and spend some quality time with the gorgeous guy I married while I am on reading-break anyway...)
Good addition to the series
with some very interesting new players!
Only thing I didn't love was the massive, massive trauma in the heroine's past. I am a bit overfed with what they all survive. And there are a lot of "heroines" out there right now who have been tortured in the worst way since toddlerhood. This is actually not exactly nice to read. And it is overkill. It seems just having had a Dad who took off, a strong and distant parent or something along those lines is not enough anymore to make a protag interesting.
The torture and abuse is so massive that it feels so overdrawn and nearly like a caricature.
It makes "normal" people with "normally difficult" childhoods feel totally inadequate...
So, dear authors, please stop.
