I was searching for a new UF series.
One that would make the waits between new Mercy or Kate books bearable.
Found this one.
And loved it.
The heroine is great. She is not a human in the strictest sense, she is an enhanced, bio-engineered being. But she has a soul, a unique voice and a character.
This is no easy romance novel, it is a brutal new world, with a lot of ugly things going on.
The ghosts of the little ones and their story nearly made me cry.
It is a gritty, action-laden, fast-paced UF novel, set in a dystopian, fantastic world.
Absolute recommendation.
