I'd do nothing but reading if I could (ok, maybe eat some great food, buy some fancy shoes between two books...oh, and spend some quality time with the gorgeous guy I married while I am on reading-break anyway...)
An unusual love story and a decades old crime story make for a gripping and partly chilling read.
The main characters are very different and their relationship has an unique dynamic.
Kevin is a heartbreaking protagonist - unable to remember the horrible events in his childhood that still impair his sex life.
Tom, who met him first in a professional manner, as a therapist, after Kevin tried to commit suicide - the reason why I deducted half a star, this is one of my major pet peeves.
His longing for Kevin and his infatuation make for the romantic part.
This is no sweet love story and no m/m romance.
It is a crime mystery at the core - and a great one. The relationship between Kevin and Tom is interwoven with this.
It is very well written and made for a fascinating read, recommended - though not for someone sensitive of rape/childabuse.
