I'd do nothing but reading if I could (ok, maybe eat some great food, buy some fancy shoes between two books...oh, and spend some quality time with the gorgeous guy I married while I am on reading-break anyway...)
The good parts: Great dialogues, witty banter, a quite enthralling crime plot and some delicious tension. A very hot and magnetic male lead. A headstrong, but interesting heroine who is NOT a simpering virgin (widow - yay!).
I have to stress, that the sensual tension and the suspense part were very good!
Minor qualms: it didn't really read like a historical romance. At least not with the dynamic between the two main characters. It was also quite over-drawn regarding the drama. I didn't care much for the "artistic talent" and the heroine being an artist didn't add to the story in my opinion.
So all in all very good read, but not brilliant.
