I'd do nothing but reading if I could (ok, maybe eat some great food, buy some fancy shoes between two books...oh, and spend some quality time with the gorgeous guy I married while I am on reading-break anyway...)

Great book, what a ride!

A Hidden Fire - Elizabeth Hunter

I so liked this!

Interesting and realistic characters and behaviour - banter and humor, action and suspense and so on.

Two little things that weren't great: The take on vampires was far away from original, actually more like sticking to most tropes as close as possible. Also the whole "book hunting mystery" part was a bit lost to me - I never got why every vamp was so ramped up about the books, but I hope that will be cleared in the next installments.

What really lifts this one out of the mass of vampire/urban fantasy is the writing. It was solid as gold. I liked the dynamic between the characters, the great dialogues, the emotions and also the action.

A very enjoyable read!
