I'd do nothing but reading if I could (ok, maybe eat some great food, buy some fancy shoes between two books...oh, and spend some quality time with the gorgeous guy I married while I am on reading-break anyway...)
See, this is why I am so suspicious of m/f.
This awfully uninteresting and uninspired "love" story, where the attraction is solely based on physical attributes.
The heroine's selling point: She is not as skinny as all those other horrible, thin girls that are throwing themselves into the Hero's path.
And the Hero: arrogant, judgemental A**hole. With a background story that probably is supposed to make the reader sympathize with him. Didn't work with me.
And when a big PLOT HOLE, sorry, DEVICE was introduced, I was out of here:
The heroine wanted to use the Hero's job and influence to secure her job, so she called him in one of the busiest weeks. He didn't respond as he was in no way obligated to do (where did she even get his number from???). So she lost her job. And now everybody is talking about how he owed her. WTF???
Oh, and the heroine is so self-reliant that her best friend since childhood who is a big name in the same business is not allowed to help - but the douchebag who doesn't owe her anything, he can give her a job at his company no problem.
Wow.
This was such a pile of bullshit, I couldn't really believe it.
And so I wisely decided that reading on wouldn't gain me any pleasure...
